The management of The National Teaching Council NTC Ghana) has officially opened the application portal for the March 2025 exams. Candidates who wish to apply can visit the portal and apply as new applicants. Applicants who had issues with one or any of the three subjects can also apply using the same portal. Unlike the 2024, the 2025 March licensure exams portal also captures Diploma certificate holders the chance to also apply and write their resit.
This means if you have a diploma certificate from any of the colleges of education and still have some resit papers, you can now apply and write the exams.
Applicants have from today, 17th June, to 7th July to log in and submit their exam registration. The exams are expected to take place in July 2025.
Eligibility For the Licensure Examination.
i. Candidates who wrote the traditional Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (i.e., Essential Professional Skills, Literacy and Numeracy) but were unsuccessful in some papers may register to re-sit.
ii. All Prospective candidates who hold a Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) and are Desirous of becoming professional teachers may register to sit.
Indexing Process
I. For the purposes of regisi. Visit https://indexing.ntc.gov.gh to check your status to determine whether your data has been uploaded onto the portal by your training institution before starting the indexing process.
ii. If a prospective candidate’s details have been uploaded, he/she shall be indexed before registering for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination.
iii. An indexing fee is Fifty Ghana Cedis (GH⍧50.00.
iv. Payment can be made at any branch of Prudential Bank Ltd nationwide, or mobile money payment can be made through the short code *772*51# across all networks by using your college or university index number.
v. After successful payment, you will receive a message on your phone that contains your name, indexing number, and further instructions.
vi. If you do not receive an indexing number, you can use your Momo or bank transaction ID to visit https://indexing.ntc.gov.gh to retrieve your indexing number by clicking on the ‘Retrieve Your Indexing Number’ button.
vii. Use the indexing number to register for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination.
All fresh candidates must go through the indexing process below:
Candidates who wrote the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination but were unsuccessful in some papers may register to re-sit. The candidates are to apply online at exams.ntc.gov.gh and complete the application form for the licensure examination.
Fees for registration:
- Fresh candidates are required to pay GHȻ 450.00 to register for the examination.
- Candidates who are re-sitting a paper (one) are to pay GHȻ 150.00.
- Candidates who are re-sitting two (2) papers are to pay GHȻ 210.00.
- Candidates who are re-sitting all three (3) papers are to pay GHȻ 385.00.
Payment can be made at any branch of Prudential Bank Ltd nationwide or via Mobile money.
Payment can be made through the short code *772*51# across all networks
For banking payments, candidates must notify the bank of their intention to resit one, two, or three papers.
- Take Pin and Serial No. from the Bank after payment.
- Log in to exams.ntc.gov.gh
- Enter your e-voucher Serial No. and Pin
- Fill in all the fields and remember to upload your passport-size photograph
NOTE: NTC will not accept any request for a change of photograph after the examination.
- Review the information provided and submit.
- Print a Summary of the inputs made.
Read the examination regulations and tick the tick-box before submission.
Candidates should keep their PIN and SERIAL NUMBERS secured after registration for the licensure examination for further use after the examination.
Completed application forms should be received online not later than 7th July, 2025
