The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially opened the 2025 teacher promotion portal, allowing eligible teachers to apply for advancement to higher ranks. This year’s process covers positions including Principal Superintendent, Assistant Director II (ADII), Assistant Director I (ADI), and Deputy Director.
Application Deadline
The promotion portal went live on Monday, 18th August 2025, and will remain open until Friday, 5th September 2025. GES has emphasized that no applications will be accepted after the deadline, so teachers are encouraged to apply early to avoid last-minute challenges.
Who is Eligible?
GES has clarified that this year’s exercise is open to all qualified teachers, especially those whose last promotion or appointment took place in 2021 or earlier. This ensures that teachers who have served the required years at their current rank can apply for advancement.
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted through the official GES Promotion Portal or via http://bit.ly/gespromotions2025 (a link and QR code have been provided by the Service). Teachers should carefully follow the instructions to ensure a successful submission.
Required Documents
Applicants are expected to upload the following documents through the portal:
-
A recent passport-size photograph in JPG, JPEG, or PNG format
-
A copy of their last promotion or appointment letter (PDF)
-
Their highest academic qualification certificate (PDF)
GES has advised teachers to ensure all uploaded files are clear, properly scanned, and legible to avoid disqualification.
Technical Challenges
The Service has acknowledged that some applicants may experience technical issues during the registration process. However, GES has assured teachers that these challenges are being addressed to ensure smooth access to the portal.
Note:
Teachers who wish to be considered for promotion in the 2025 cycle must complete and submit their application on the portal no later than Friday, 5th September 2025. Missing this deadline will mean waiting until the next promotion window. Ges promotion portal 2025 pdf
